ou remember all the "Love is..." under the pen name of "Kim" comic strips from the 1970's? They were published in booklets originally in the late 1960's, and then every day, except Sunday, they appeared in a newspaper and you could also buy gifts with them as well.
Why were there so many? Simply, I believe, because Love is so big and so varied. As they were drawn as a series of love notes by a New Zealand cartoonist, Kim Casali (née Grove), for her future husband, Roberto Casali, they were an expression of true love.
Love is so many things to so many people and can be shown in umpteen different ways.
I know I talk a lot about love, but I believe it is so important to those we love, to show them that we love them. Love doesn't need to be expensive gestures; sometimes it is the smallest of things that mean the most.
We all have different ways in which love speaks to us. We tend to show others we love them in the way we like to be shown love. They are not always the same and so, despite us thinking we are showing love to someone, they may not feel that love. For this reason, we need to find out which way speaks to our loved one. More on that coming upin another blog, but while you are waiting, hopefully you have food for thought to chew over.
